Bangladesh star performer and the most experienced player in the side is now ruled out of the remainder of series against Kiwis after sustaining Hamstring Injury in the series opener.

Mushfiqur pulled up his Hamstring while he was batting on 42 while chasing a massive target set by the hosts, things looked under control for Bangladesh when Rahim knocking it brilliantly but an injury forced him to retire hurt where his side eventually fell short of 77 runs.

Regarding the incident, Coach Chandika expressed his concern as he stated that “He is recovering well. I saw him in the pool today. He is always driven with his preparation and I am sure he will do the same with this injury.”

“He has been one of the form batters as well as wicketkeeper in all formats, but injuries are part and parcel of the game.We are looking at two weeks, anything before is a bonus”, Chandika added.

Rahim is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks from the International cricket and Nurul Hasan could bag his maiden ODI cap to pick up the Wicket-Keeping duties in Second ODI.

Injury of Rahim would be a massive blow for Bangladesh as he is One of the senior batsman in the side who is capable of scoring a match winning knocks for his side.

Currently, Kiwis are leading the three-match ODI series with 1-0 and Second ODI is scheduled to play at Nelson on Thursday, December 29th.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play Three-match ODI series followed by a T20 series and finally concludes after playing Couple of Tests.
