The English spearhead, Jimmy Anderson has been ruled out of the final test against India. Anderson is suffering from soreness and the ECB is not ready to take any risk. The English skipper has confirmed that the record wicket taker has been ruled out from the final test in Chennai.
England who have already lost the series 3-0 to India took a major blow ahead of the series finale as Jimmy Anderson cannot be a part of the final test match which is to played in Chennai from 16th of December. “Unfortunately Jimmy is ruled out – he’s picked up body soreness from the last game,” Cook stated.
Meanwhile the impact of Jimmy’s loss might be reduced by the return of Stuart Broad. Broad who has missed the last two tests due to tendon strain will be picked for the series closure if he succeeds in proving his fitness.
Anderson who has played three out of the four tests in the series managed to pick only four wickets. Stuart Broad who has played two matches picked 6 wickets along with one 4-fer. But his fitness is the main concern for the Englishmen. Test Cricket is not easy to play without cent percent fitness.
The Englishmen will be hoping for a better show from their bowlers at least in the series closure. England need its key bowlers to strike consistently to make a mark in the series. Adil Rashid is the only English bowler who has picked more than 20 wickets. Other than Rashid, Moeen Ali is the only one who’s in the top five wicket takers of the series.
