They are likely to consult specialists soon The extent of time that Pandya will be out is unknown while team management is backing Rahul to be fit for Mumbai test starting on 8th Of December.

Pandya was named in the squad for England test and since then he has been carrying drinks. KL Rahul sustained a hamstring injury in the first test vs New Zealand at Kanpur and had to be ruled out of that series. He was out for a duck in the first innings and failed to make it count in the second innings. Before the start of Mohali he aggravated the injury and that meant Parthiv Patel was shifted to the top of the order who was replacing Saha and Karun Nair had to hand his test cap.

Hardik Pandya earned his maiden test call-up on the back of a good tour Down Under and a string of consistent performances vs New Zealand in the recently concluded ODI series. However, India didn’t need a Fast bowling all-rounder that meant he had to warm the bench in first 3 tests.

This has been a season of injuries for India. Earlier Rohit Sharma was ruled out for some 8 weeks or so because of a hamstring injury that forced him to undergo surgery. Shikhar Dhawan injured his finger in Kolkata test but now is back in domestic circuit scoring some runs for Delhi. New Zealanders also suffered few injuries when they were here a couple of months ago while for England, Broad and Anderson have missed a test each on this tour.
