Just after when England restricted the dominating India to 455 in the first innings on Day 2, an astonishing incident took place at Visakhapatnam which took the fan’s breath away from the stadium, courtesy Mohammed Shami in dismissing the English skipper Alastair Cook. An absolute peach of a delivery that ripped through the defences of Cook’s position to make a nasty mess of the off-stump.
That one magic ball created a buzz in the stadium and brought the Indian audience back to the rhythm on the second day at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. Having known that India posted a colossal total, England had to step up efforts to mount pressure on India straight away by putting on a solid platform.
Mohammed Shami’s introduction to the attack meant a lot in sending Cook back to the dressing room early on in the happening of the second over. Shami was able to pitch the ball at the right line and length with surgical precision and as well saw a little bit of gap between Cook’s bat and pad that eventually shattered the off-stump into two halves.
