Sohail Tanvir holds the record for the greatest ever spell in IPL history when he picked up 6 wickets giving away just 14 runs in his 4 overs against Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. He picked up Parthiv Patel, Stephen Fleming, S Vidyut, Albie Morkel, Makhaya Ntini and Muthiah Muralitharan.
9) AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli’s 229 run partnership:
That was a day when demolition went another notch ahead as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers took the Gujarat bowlers to the cleaners. Both lashed all guns blazing and build a 229 run partnership for the second wicket, the highest ever in the history of IPL and interestingly, they broke their own record which they set in the earlier season against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.
