The Delhi Capitals have been downright abysmal in the IPL 2023 so far. They have played 5 matches in the competitions so far and have lost all.
Today they faced their fifth consecutive defeat of the season at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Today’s defeat was perhaps the most disappointing of them all for the Capitals as Royal Challengers Bangalore were unable to put up a gigantic total and after the first innings, it looked like DC should have won this match.
Talking about the match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Although Virat Kohli gave RCB a great start with his half century, the middle order batters were unable to keep it going for them and they could only muster a mere total of 174 runs.
Coming in to chase, Delhi Capitals were off to a horrible start. Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh both departed for a duck while in at 4 Yash Dhull score only a single run.
Captain David Warner, who has been DC’s best batter in the tournament so far, also scored 19 runs only.
Although Manish Pandey’s half century gave DC hopes, it was not enough to win the match and they could only score 151 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Fans have started bashing and trolling the Delhi Capitals badly on social media, particularly on Twitter. There are way too many memes on them right now and everybody is targeting the team and its players. Let us take a look at some of them.
Amid all this, a very controversial incident took place after the match. We all know the heated situation between Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli after the National Captaincy conundrum. Virat Kohli is one of the main players of RCB and Dada is the mentor of DC.
After the match, when the players were shaking hands, Sourav Ganguly clearly skipped Virat Kohli in the line and went on the shake the next person’s hand.
