Gujarat Titans have ousted Mumbai Indians by a massive margin in IPL 2023’s Qualifier 2 and with this, they have won a place in the final of the tournament. This means that we’ll get to see a rematch of Qualifier 1, i.e CSK vs GT in the final.
Shubman Gill was the star of Qualifier 1 with 129 runs in 60 balls. He scored more than half of GT’s total in today’s match which was a whopping 233. With this performance, Shubman Gill is now also the highest run scorer of IPL 2023 and he also has the third most runs in a single IPL season in the history of the tournament behind Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler.
Coming in to chase, Mumbai Indians did not look great in the beginning but they slowly found a good footing in the match, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma’s knock. After Tilak Varma’s dismissal, all eyes and hopes of MI fans were on Suryakumar Yadav. Till a certain point, it even seemed possible and Suryakumar Yadav was totally set.
But one particular overconfident move from him shattered all hopes of Mumbai Indians. We all know that Sky is used to playing unorthodox shots all around the field.
When he was batting on 61 against Mohit Sharma, he lost his wicket trying to play a similar shot and from there onwards, Mumbai Indians started losing their wickets one after the other.
Mohit Sharma ended up picking up 5 wickets and completely dismantled the lower order of Mumbai Indians, sealing the victory for Gujarat Titans.

Fans have started to blame Suryakumar Yadav for the loss as MI could have won this match has he been a little more responsible.
However the damage is done now and CSK will have a chance to equal MI’s IPL trophies tally on Sunday against GT in the final.
