Watch Video: Scuffle between Usman Khawaja and a member inside the long room takes the headlines:-

Usman Khawaja was pulled back by the lord’s security after having a heated conversation with one of the members in the long room. The incident took place while the players were returning from the field for lunch on the final day of the Second test of the ongoing 5 match ashes series between England and Australia. On his way back after the first session of the day’s play, a few words were exchanged between Khawaja and one of the members from the crowd in the long room which soon turned into a heated argument.

The stewards along with Khawaja’s team mates tried pulling the opening batsman away. David Warner also was seen trying to intervene by saying a few words to the person from the crowd involved in the scuffle with Khawaja. Eventually both the players continued on their way to the dressing rooms as the argument didn’t get any worse. Eoin Morgan reacted to the incident saying that he had never seen something like that happen ever before, not even on the field let alone in the long room! He also said that the fact that the fans at the lord’s are frustrated might be related to Johnny Bairstow’s being run out in the weirdest possible manner.

Khawaja despite his scuffle off the field has shown no signs of decline on the pitch since he was the hero for his side in the first test with a hundred and a fifty in the first and second innings respectively. The left hander also continued his fine form as he notched a vital 77 in the second innings of the 2nd test match thereby strengthening his side’s grip over the test match. Australia eventually went on to win the test match by 43 runs and take a sublime 2-0 lead in the 5 match series over the hosts.
