Harshit Rana is pretty well known to be the ‘angry young man’ of the Indian contingent. He is a young man with a temper and does not shy away from showing his anger on the field, reminding one of a young Virat Kohli. Pretty uncharacteristic to his nature, the youngster was seen being comparatively calm in his match against Pakistan today in the 2025 Champions Trophy. That was probably because he knows how big a match this is and a young player like him needs to be calm to perform in such a high-intensity match.
The fact that Harshit Rana was holding back his aggression could be seen very well when he had a collision with Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan when he was running between the wickets. The two players collided and Mohammad Rizwan looked back at him. It looked like he told something to Rizwan. While Harshit remained calm at first and was seen smiling, he shouted something after after that. However, the youngster controlled himself and let it slide.

Harshit Rana performed pretty well against Pakistan. In fact, he was the best among the two pacers that India played today, as unfortunately it was not Mohammed Shami’s day. Rana picked up 1 wicket in 7.4 overs and had an economy of 3.91. It was Rana who picked up Pakistan’s last wicket in the form of Kushdil Shah and saved two deliveries.
In the previous match against Bangladesh, the youngster had picked up 3 wickets and had an economy of 4.04. Thus, Rana is proving to be a handy pacer in Team India’s arsenal in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and he might prove to be a valuable asset in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
