Abrar Ahmed dismisses Shubman Gill: Team India have had a sensational start to their chase in their ongoing match against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Pakistan put up a low total of 241 runs in the first innings, which wasn’t supposed to be that big of a struggle for India, given the insane depth they have in their batting lineup.
And they lived up to the expectation and are playing brilliantly against the Pakistani bowling attack.
Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma gave India a brilliant start and gave them a base to build upon. While Rohit Sharma departed early after scoring just 20 off 15.
Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli ended up having an important partnership together that took India off the 100 runs mark, taking them close to the required total.
However, Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed got the better of Shubman Gill later on. His brilliant off-spin was edged by Shubman Gill onto the wicket and the Indian veteran got bowled out.
Currently, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are playing brilliantly to chase down the total for India currently. Virat Kohli has already scored 64 off 74, while Shreyas Iyer is currently getting in form and has scored 17 off 35.
The Indian contingent and their fans would hope that this partnership stays intact till the very end and they win the match for the Blues.
It is more or less clear that India is winning this match from here. A loss in this match will virtually mean that Pakistan will be eliminated from the tournament
because New Zealand is expected to register an easy win over Bangladesh. Thus, Pakistan’s match against Bangladesh will become a mere formality.
