The International Masters League has been doing a really good job of bringing the cricket legends from across the globe together. The current generation had never seen legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Jacques Kallis play live and thanks to the International Masters League, they are finally being able to get a taste of their phenomenal skills. Despite the fact they have all aged a lot now, class is permanent and even seeing them bat at the age of 50 is a treat to the eyes.
There have been some really special moments that the International Masters League has given up even off the pitch and we saw something similar last night as well. During the match between India Masters and South Africa Masters, we saw West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards in attendance. He met Sachin Tendulkar and the two legends embraced in a warm hug. The crowd cheered wholeheartedly, seeing the two legends together. He also shook hands with the other India Masters players.
Sir Vivian Richards was one of Sachin Tendulkar’s heroes during childhood alongside Sunil Gavaskar. “Viv Richards was my hero. I used to watch his batting and try to imitate his style. The way he dominated bowlers and played with so much confidence was incredible. He had a presence at the crease that was unmatched,” he once said.
Talking about yesterday’s match, it was the India Masters who defeated the South Africa Masters without any difficulty at all. They restricted them to a total of just 85 runs, thanks to Rahul Sharma’s hattrick. They chased down the total in just 11 runs without any struggle at all. With this, they have won three of their three matches in the tournament so far and sit comfortably at the top of the points table.
