VIDEO: Kyle Jamieson and Matt Henry continue to trouble Team India – Rohit Sharma departs

Team India are in big trouble. They have been off to a horrible start in the ongoing match against New Zealand, which is being played at the Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. It turned out to be the perfect decision for them, as they have already picked up three quick wickets and the biggest wickets of them all.

Matt Henry drew the first blood after dismissing Shubman Gill, following which Virat Kohli came in. Kohli and Rohit Sharma should ideally have played responsibly to have a good partnership after the early dismissal of Gill. However, Rohit Sharma, in the recent past, has made it clear that he is not in it for the long game and prefers to score quick runs in order to give India a decent start at the beginning. He lost his wicket again today in an attempt to do exactly that.

On the very first delivery of the sixth over, Kyle Jamieson picked up his wicket. The ball did not arrive as early as Rohit had anticipated and he played it towards the mid-wicket. Will Young, who was standing there, had no struggle in taking the catch after moving a bit towards his left. He took a reverse catch above his head.

Following that, India lost the big wicket of Virat Kohli too. It is important to note that although Team India will definitely want to win this match, losing the match can also prove to be beneficial for them. The team that loses this match will face South Africa in the semifinals. Compared to facing Australia, that’s definitely a better choice. Especially given the kind of history India has had against Australia in the recent past, they will definitely prefer playing them in the semis. In that way, losing this match can in a way be good for them.
