Amol Muzumdar to join Rajasthan Royals as batting coach

IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, who are making comeback in 2018 after serving two years ban, have appointed Amol Muzumdar as their batting coach. The franchise made it public on their official website that Amol Muzumdar will be the batting coach for Royals in IPL 2018.

Mumbai born right-handed batsman, Muzumdar has immense first-class cricket experience to his name. He has played 171 first-class matches and has scored 11167 runs with the help of 30 centuries. He has immense domestic experience and certainly will prove beneficial for the franchise.

As a coach one has to constantly innovate, says Muzumdar

As per reports in Rajasthan Royals official website, Amol Muzumdar is excited to be the part of Royals. “These are exciting times for a batsman. Twenty20 has completely changed the contours of the game. The skill-sets are different, the game is more happening. There is never a dull moment. As a coach one has to constantly innovate and adapt while guiding the youngsters acquire new batting skills and keeping the basics of the game intact at the same time. It is a role I am excited about”, says Muzumdar.

Zubin Bharucha, who is head of Cricket for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018, has shown his pleasure on Amol joining Royals camp. “We are proud to have Amol Muzumdar on board as the team’s batting coach. His record on domestic circuit speaks for his greatness. The young batsmen will get so much to learn from him and develop their skills. Amol and Sairaj both bring skill, experience and vehemence that will surely drive the energy of the team in the right direction”, says Zubin Bharucha.

Rajasthan Royals have already appointed Shane Warne as the mentor of the Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming season of the IPL. Shane Warne was clinical for the Rajasthan Royals in the first season of IPL where he captained the team and took them to IPL glory.

Rajasthan Royals who is making a comeback along with Chennai Super Kings after a gap of two years have made their intentions clear when they picked the team in the auction. They have players like Steve Smith and Ajinkya Rahane, who have immense IPL experience as well as Ben Stokes who is one of the best all-rounders in the world right now.

The franchise has also picked Australian D’Arcy Short and Carribean Jofra Archer, who has impressed many in recently concluded Big Bash League of Australia.
