Arjun Tendulkar all set to flex his muscles for Mumbai U-19 debut

Arjun Tendulkar is all set to pad up for Mumbai just like his father Sachin Tendukar did a long ago. Arjun Tendulkar who is a typical left-handed all-rounder by trait is geared up to play some candid cricket for Mumbai U-19. He will mark his first appearance as a debutant in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy that is starting next week.

Just a couple of months ago, Arjun Tendulkar shot into fame and set the social media on fire when he injured England player Jonny Bairstow with a pinpoint yorker during nets at the Lord’s. Arjun sent Bairstow packing at the worst scene that required quick medical attention.

U-19 debut on the cards:

Arjun Tendulkar has had some good memories so far playing for Mumbai in U-14 and U-16 tournaments. Just a level up now, he will be looking forward to playing with gumption and making first impressions in spicing it up in the debut match against Baroda on October 9 will be some real test.

“He will be our main all-rounder. I saw a lot of improvement in his game. When we played in Baroda recently, he bowled well and during our two practice matches here in Mumbai, he bowled and batted well. I consider him as a bowling all-rounder of the team,” said¬†Mumbai Cricket Association’s under-19 selection committee head Rajesh Pawar according to mid-day.

Agni Chopra got the luxury to skipper the side for the first two matches. After playing Baroda in the first, Mumbai team will lock horns with Saurashtra on October 10 in Mumbai. A bunch of colourful players with unique talents is what makes them special and according to Pawar, these assets will turn to virtual ones.

“We have a very good team. Most of these players will be playing in under-19 category for the first time. It depends on how quickly they pick up from here. I am confident they will raise the bar,” Pawar added.
