From supporting female athletes in the country to coming out in the support of the armed forces, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is never shy of expressing himself. The left-handed batsman from Delhi is very much known for his patriotic sentiments.

Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam died on 27th July in 2015. He died while delivering the lecture at the lecture in an institute in Shillong, Meghalaya. Dr Kalam is often considered as one of the best presidents the country has ever seen. He was known for his simple living and high standards. He, in true words, is an inspiration to millions of Indians. Gautam Gambhir, who admires Dr Kalam, asks for the biopic to be made on the former President.

Gautam Gambhir says former President deserves a Biopic

On the third death anniversary of former President, Gautam Gambhir calls for the biopic to be made on the Missile Man of India, as Dr Kalam was nicknamed. He took to Twitter and delivers his message. “No one deserves a biopic more than this great man Bharat Ratna dr. Abdul Kalam. True inspiration to every Indian.”, reads the tweet by the former captain of Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the recent times, several biopics have been made over cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin and have been critically acclaimed. A recent biopic over former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh has also been applauded.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was clinical in India’s successful atomic tests in Pokhran, Rajasthan. In 1997, he was honoured with the ‘Bharat Ratna’, the highest civilian honour in Inda, for his contribution to the scientific research and modernisation of defence technology in India.

Gautam Gambhir is known for taking the stand when it comes to the patriotic duties. He hailed the ‘Surgical strikes’ done by India at terrorist camps situated in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Not just with Armed forces, Gautam Gambhir often posts and regularly urges the countrymen to be more responsive to the country.
