If there is one positive thing that Delhi Daredevils can take from this year’s IPL, it is their wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. The left-handed batsman is in superb form this season. With 582 runs in the 12 games, the 20-year old player from Delhi is currently the leading run-scorer in this year’s IPL.

Rishabh Pant is in superb form and that too came when national selectors were busy finalising the teams for the upcoming tour of England. On the basis of their IPL performances, players like Siddarth Kaul, Umesh Yadav and Ambati Rayudu have been included in the limited overs team. Rishabh Pant, however, was not considered for any of the team, given his superb form with the bat.

Rishabh Pant took to Twitter to brushes off the rumours

Rishabh Pant scored the highest individual score of this season of the IPL when he played the knock of 128 runs with the help of 7 sixes and 15 boundaries against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Interestingly, this knock came on the same day when the selectors announced the team for the upcoming tour of England. The reports spread out that Rishabh Pant is apparently unhappy after he was not included in the team.

Yesterday, the young Rishabh Pant took to Twitter and smashed off all the rumours about him being upset over the non-selection. “Just to clarify some rumours going around about my statement about not getting selected to play for India I never said anything like that it so just giving out my clarification.🙏 So please stop spreading rumours and let me concentrate on my cricket 😇”, tweets Rishabh Pant.

Although Delhi Daredevils may have one of the forgettable seasons, the franchise can still take some positives from this year. The emergence of young players like Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer’s stepping up for captaincy, particularly under the pressure after Gautam Gambhir resigned from his post, are certainly some of the positives for Delhi Daredevils this year. The franchise can surely learn from their mistakes of this year which will certainly help them in playing better cricket next year.
