As per reports in DNA, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has paid 1.24 crore Rupees more this year in taxes. For the financial year 2016-17, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had paid the sum of 10.93 crores as taxes. However, at that time, he was not the highest tax-payer in the state. For the latest of the financial year 2017-18, he has paid a total of 12.17 crores, which made him the highest tax-payer.
As per Forbes Magazine, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the third highest earning cricketer in India behind Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. In the list of Forbes India for the highest paid celebrities in 2017, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was on the 8th spot with the estimated earnings of Rs. 63.7 crore.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni launched his apparel line SEVEN in 2017. He is also the co-owner of the Chennayin FC football franchise in the Indian Super League. He is also joint owner of Ranchi Rays franchise in the Hockey India League.
Dhoni recently led Chennai Super Kings to the IPL glory in 2018. However, his lesser performances in the recent ODI series against England fuelled the speculation that he might retire after the ODI series.
Dhoni was seen seeking the match ball at the end of the lost third ODI against England in Headingley. This sparked speculations that Dhoni may retire after the series. However, sources in the team management have dismissed the talk as “rumours”.
