The Indian premier Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is gearing up for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League in a best possible way. Saha blasted a century in just 20 balls for his club Mohan Bagan while playing in the JC Mukherjee trophy against BNR Recreation Club in Kalighat today.

Mohun Bagan was able to restrict the opposition for a mere 151 runs in their 20 overs and the openers Wriddhiman Saha and captain Subhomoy Das went berserk from the first ball of their innings. Saha didn’t show any respite for the opposition bowlers as he took them to the cleaners.

This was one heck of a knock.

Saha looked in fine as he found the middle of the bat. Saha completed his century in just mere 20 balls as he blasted the bowlers to all the corners of the ground. The gloveman scored at a strike of 510 as he scored whopping 14 sixes and 4 fours in his knock as he played his innings in the topmost gear.

Saha all hundred runs out of his score of 102 came in the form of boundaries. It was unbelievable knock from the wicketkeeper-batsman as he was able to find the fence on 18 occasions. It is noted that 17 balls are the fewest taken by any batsman to reach a hundred in a professional cricket and Saha knock has made him the fastest Indian to the landmark.

Saha’s partner Das also played in the top gear as he scored a fine 43 off just 22 balls which included six fours and two sixes and helped his side in finishing the match in just seven overs.

Saha had also scored a fine century in the final of 2014 Indian Premier League final when he had scored 115 off just 55 balls for the Kings XI Punjab but his knock had gone in vain as the Punjab franchise had lost the match to Kolkata Knight Riders. Saha will be representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming season of the IPL and the Hyderabad team will hope that Bengal player keeps his fine form going.

The Club took to Twitter as their post read, “!! A World Record !! A Blistering batting performance by @Wriddhipops saha scored 102 in just 20 balls (14 sixes & 4 fours) Mohun Bagan chased down the score of 151 in just 7 overs beating B.N.R by 10 wickts in J.C.Mukherjee Trophy. Take a bow man !!”.
