BCCI is earning most of its revenue from IPL.

The BCCI will make 16 times more money in the 45-day cycle of the IPL than it would make throughout the rest of the year. In 2018, IPL is expected to make 60% of BCCI’s overall surplus of a little under 670 crores.

The Star India had bagged the media rights for the next five years for a whopping INR 16,347 crores and the IPL is expected to get the surplus of INR 2017 crores as compared to INR 400 crores during the last financial year.

The Indian Premier League has helped take Indian Cricket to new heights and it is one of the main reasons that the BCCI is making such huge money. The IPL money has helped the Indian board in improving the facilities of the grounds and the results have been fruitful.

The allocation ratio of IPL and BCCI has changed from 80:20 to 52:48 due to the colossal change in the revenues. The BCCI is making sure that they are investing their money at the right place and they are providing their players with the world-class facilities.
