7) Grant Elliott (New Zealand):
A major part of Grant Elliott’s cricketing career was quite dull, but once he made a comeback absolutely out of the blue in 2014, just months before the commencement of the ICC World Cup 2015, he became a backbone for the side. Many often say that if New Zealand would have won that final against Australia in 2015, Elliott would have been the man of the tournament.
Elliott was their rock in the middle-order during the World Cup and with his deceptive medium pace, he provided McCullum with crucial breakthroughs as well. In 66 ODIs, he piled up just 1,526 runs, but the country of New Zealand can never ever forget that winning six of Dale Steyn in the final over of the semi-final against South Africa.
