The stunning piece of bowling display and the fantastic effort from the Rohit Sharma guided India draw the first blood of the series. It has been a sensation bowling performance from Kuldeep Yadav in the first innings of the game which was beautifully helped the stunning century from the Rohit Sharma’s willow. All in all, India sealed a comfortable victory at Nottingham.
Initially, it was India who won the toss and asked England to put on the total. Accepting the task, England openers, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy started the things in a blazing way for England. But, the introduction of wrist spinners changed the phase of the game as Roy and Joe Root walked back to the hut in a quick succession courtesy Kuldeep Yadav.
England skipper, Eoin Morgan tried to stick around but his partner, Jonny Bairstow is the other top-order batsman who failed to read Kuldeep thus walked back to the hut to leave England in worry. However, Ben Stokes played sensibly to repair the work while Morgan once again been the victim of Yuzvendra Chahal who flicked it to Suresh Raina.
However, the in-form Buttler and Stokes steadied the ship and both managed to register their individual fifties. Soon after the milestones, Kuldeep Yadav once again does the trick to pull India back to the hut. The late blitz from tail-enders saw England post 268 runs on the board. Meanwhile. Kuldeep registered his career-best 6/25 figures.
In reply to the chase, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started the things quite nicely but the stylish southpaw failed to continue as his blazing willow found the outside edge of Moeen Ali. However, Rohit Sharma, the king of ODI format, Virat Kohli paired up to register a beautiful 157-run partnership for the second wicket thus helping India reach the total safely.
Though Virat Kohli was out at the inches close to the victory, the centurion, Rohit Sharma stayed tall at the crease to finish the things off in a style.
