Injury update: Rohit Sharma gives positive news over Bhuvneshwar’s fitness

The only thing that could hurt India in any format of the game is injury blows and unfortunately, they are haunting them during the crucial series. They already lost the services of Jasprit Bumrah from the limited over series while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been riding on the thin ice. However, the vice-captain, Rohit Sharma has given a positive update on the issue.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was dropped from the final T20I game in the recently concluded game against England. However, his replacement Siddharth Kaul has been effective but when it comes to One day cricket, India are heavily reliant on Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the death overs, leaving Bumrah, the absence of Bhuvneshwar will hurt them badly.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma quoted that the fast bowler is doing pretty fine with his fitness and the physio too fine with the progress of the fast bowler. However, as of now, Rohit Sharma hasn’t given any confirmed information but he is confident of the fast bowler make his way back into the game at Nottingham which is to be played on July 12th.

“Bhuvi has obviously come here to train and he’s going to see how the net session goes for him. He’s going to try and bowl and see how he feels. Obviously, the physio and the captain will take the call later once he finishes his training sessions but he looks fine to me as of now. So hopefully he will be ready to take the field tomorrow,” he said while speaking at the pre-match press conference.

Coming to series, number 1 rank is at stake for both the teams. Currently, India ranked second in the ICC’s ODI rankings with 122 rating points after the conclusion of 48 matches. Meanwhile, the number 1 placed England bagged 126 points in 45 matches. In order to seal the first place, Indian team should seal the series 3-0 while England needs to win at least one game to stay at the first place safely.

The first ODI begins on July 12 at Nottingham, followed by the second match at London on July 14 and third match at Leeds on July 17. The 3-match ODI series will be followed by the 5-Test match series in which England are eager to take their revenge. India already wrapped up T20I series and are waiting to show their brilliance in ODI as well.
