Kolkata Knight Riders’ brought curtains on the winning streak of Rajasthan Royals. The incredible bowling effort from Kuldeep Yadav followed by timely knocks from Chris Lynn and Dinesh Karthik sealed the deal for Kolkata Knight Riders. The win ensured KKR to strengthen their chances for playoffs while Rajasthan shrank their chances.

Initially, it was Dinesh Karthik who won the toss and asked the home side to start the run scoring. Accepting the challenge, both the openers smashed Mavi and Prasidh to all corners of the part with ease. At one stage, they found boundary fence for 10 times in a row to bring a quickfire fifty for the team but Andre Russell’s quick bouncer did the trick as Rahul Tripathi has no answer to tackle it.

Ajinkya Rahane continued his flop show when he failed to reverse sweep Kuldeep Yadav. Sanju Samson hung in the middle to rotate the strike but failed to read Sunil Narine’s off-cutter. It was the breakthrough which opened the gates for KKR who ripped the middle-order of Rajasthan in a flash.

Kuldeep Yadav who is having a lean patch in the tourney made a comeback in style by running a riot of RR’s batting line-up. He scalped all the trump cards of RR to put the team on top of the game. However, the late blitz from Jaydev Unadkat, in the end, helped Rajasthan Royals to post a respectable tally of 142 runs on the board.

In reply to the chase, Sunil Narine started the things in a grand way as he thwacked Krishnappa Gowtham for 21 runs in the first over of the game. However, Stokes brought the things back by bowling a wicket-maiden that was followed by a wicket of Robin Uthappa in his next over. His incredible two overs upfront pulled things back for RR.

However, Chris Lynn played a timely knock of 45 runs off 42 balls while the skipper Dinesh Karthik stood firm at the crease after the wicket of Nitish Rana. The calm and composed Dinesh Karthik took his side to a comfortable win thus leaving Ben Stokes heroics on the wrong side of the things,
