IPL 2018: Will Sun be able to rise in Kolkata’s Night?

Analysis, Articles, Featured, Match Preview

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have thus far left a mark in the ongoing Indian Premier League and as expected it has been their bowling unit who have helped them in putting their noses in front. In both the matches, their bowling unit has put them in commanding position and in the last match against Mumbai Indians their batsmen almost gave it away.

One aspect of the game in which the Orange Army would like to buckle up will be their fielding as they dropped two catches that should have been held. On the other hand, Kolkata was not able to defend a par score of 202 against Chennai Super Kings and their bowlers need to do a better job than what they did.

Sunrisers will look to continue their impetus.

Andre Russell played one of the finest knocks of the tournament thus far but his innings, unfortunately, went in vain.  Russell had wreaked havoc against CSK and the Windies all-rounder was just unstoppable. Meanwhile, Kolkata team has been dealt with another injury blow as Under-19 World Cup sensation Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the tournament due to a foot injury.

Sunrisers have played both their matches in their own backyard and this would be the first time that they would be traveling out of the home. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was ruled out with the sore back and it would be interesting to note whether the talisman bowler makes the cut back into the team. If he is fully fit, he is expected to replace Sandeep Sharma who had done a fine job.

Both the teams have different dilemmas going into the match. Sunrisers would be looking for a better batting performance whereas Kolkata will look to have a better day with bowling.

Match Prediction: Eden Gardens has provided assistance to the fast bowlers and the Hyderabad’s bowlers would be licking their lips. The team winning the toss would like to go for the target. Kolkata has won eight matches while Hyderabad has been able to win four in head to head encounters.
