PCB files a complaint to ICC about a major missing during the India vs Bangladesh match

Major missing in India vs Bangladesh CT match: Only three games have been played in the 2025 Champions Trophy so far and the tournament has already been filled with controversies. While it could be predicted that the tournament will involve some controversies as the host nation is Pakistan this time around, it was not expected that the problems would start to arise this early.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly complained to the ICC about a major missing during the high-intensity clash between India and Bangladesh in the second match of the tournament, which was played at the Dubai International Stadium. Apparently, throughout the game, Pakistan’s name was missing from the broadcast logo. The PCB has thus formally requested an explanation for the matter from the ICC.

According to the guidelines, the broadcasters are obligated to show the name of the tournament alongside the country’s name in the broadcast logo during the matches of a tournament. This was not followed during India’s match against Bangladesh. The hybrid status of the tournament is due to India’s inability to play in Pakistan, which is itself controversial. The fact that the rare occurrence took place during Team India’s match has further infuriated the Pakistani fans on social media, who have called ICC out. For those who are unaware, the Champions Trophy is being hosted by Pakistan but Team India’s matches will be played in Dubai.

What the ICC Spokesperson replied to the Pakistan Cricket Board

However, a spokesperson from ICC has assured that this was nothing but a technical glitch and that Pakistan’s name will be mentioned in all the upcoming matches alongside the broadcast logo. He also mentioned that Pakistan’s name was correctly mentioned in the logo in all the social media clips that were posted.

“The omission was due to a graphics-related technical issue, which will be rectified from tomorrow. It was not possible to change the logo during the match,” the ICC spokesperson told Geo TV, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
