Kuldeep Yadav was one of the heroes for India’s victory over New Zealand in yesterday’s victory in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy. He picked up two essential wickets that made sure that the Kiwis were restricted to a low total and was pivotal in the Indian bowling attack. However, that did not stop him from being almost abused by the Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

Although Kuldeep Yadav has always been very important for India as one of the team’s most successful spinners in the recent past, he had always been pretty funny and kind of inattentive on the pitch. Thus, there have been multiple cases where he was rebuked by his captains in the national side and some of those clips went really viral on social media.

A similar instance almost happened in the post-match presentation of the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy between India and New Zealand. In the Champions Trophy, there is a popular tradition of honoring the winning team with a white blazer and so was the case this time as well, where the Indian players were honored with their white blazers.
Right before Rohit Sharma, it was Kuldeep Yadav’s turn to take the blazer and he had some trouble putting it on and took a long time putting his left hand in. Rohit Sharma, who was next after him in the queue, was visibly frustrated at him and from his expressions, it looked like he was about to abuse him. However, he then sorted it out and got saved from yet another potentiallly viral moment.
