Watch: MS Dhoni collects the ball from the umpire, raises retirement questions

Featured, Videos

We recently got heart-break when AB de Villiers announced his retirement now, MS Dhoni gave a mini ache to his fans and followers when he was found receiving the ball from the umpire after the conclusion of ODI series at Leeds. It was a bit similar to his Test retirement scenario who took the stump with him despite losing the game and then shared the heart-breaking announcement.

Similiar to it, MS Dhoni collected the ball from the umpire at the end of the match which raised a lot of concerns and doubts for the fans. Hopefully, it won’t be any that kind of decision as the World Cup 2019 is nearing and MS Dhoni himself told that he would like to experience winning the world cup again amidst Indian fans singing the national anthem collectively.

Coming to the final game match report, initially, it was England who won the toss and asked the visitors to put on a score on the board first. Justifying the toss decision, England bowlers were top class with their line and lengths to send Rohit Sharma for a cheap score. Virat Kohli who walked at number 3 paired with Dhawan to produce runs at a healthy strike rate. Just when things looked hard for England, Stokes stunning throw saw Dhawan short of his run thus walking back to the pavilion.

Dinesh Karthik played in a positive way for a while but dismissed by Adil Rashid who perfectly grabbed him with a googly. He was quickly followed by Suresh Raina who failed to tackle Adil Rashid’s magic while the dream delivery by the Rashid again saw awestruck Virat Kohli walk back with a grim face. MS Dhoni hung around in the middle alongside Hardik Pandya but once again England were brilliant in stopping the run flow.

The late blitz by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shardul Thakur saw India out a fighting tally of 257 on the board. In reply to the chase, James Vince and Jonny Bairstow started the things in a blazing way by finding the fence often than not. During the course, Shardul sent Bairstow back while Dhoni’s brilliance saw Vince making his way back. However, it was once again Joe Root who stood tall in the chase to put India on the back foot.

Eoin Morgan batted beautifully to give his helping hand to Joe Root in the cause of the chase. However, at one point, Morgan completely dominated the things to give a wholesome advantage to his country. Both Eoin Morgan and Joe Root added a stunning partnership to register a fine series victory for England and showed why they are placed at number 1 in the ICC chart.
