Watch: God-like stumping stumping by MS Dhoni takes the big wicket of Shubman Gill as Jadeja redeems himself

After being postponed last night due to heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad, the IPL 2023 final is being played currently at the Narendra Modi stadium as today was marked as the reserve day by BCCI.

CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. One of the biggest factors that CSK and their fans had to think about ahead of the much awaited final was the sensational form that Gujarat Titans batsman Shubman Gill has been in lately.

However, the CSK bowlers were able to attain their major goal of eliminating the threat of Shubman Gill early on in the match and that was indeed a big relief for them as the big fish has now been sent back to the pavilion.

The big wicket was scalped by none other than Ravindra Jadeja who has been the center of a lot of attention lately. It was a brilliant stumping by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and captain cool was sure enough. The decision was sent upstairs and sure enough, he was right again. It’s called the ‘Dhoni Review System’ for a reason after all.

Shubman Gill scored just 39 runs in tonight’s match. Although he did well enough to win the Orange Cap award of this season, he fell short of the record for most runs in a single IPL season (a record held by Virat Kohli for a very long time) by roughly 90 runs. Yet, his performance this season was memorable enough will be written in gold forever.

However, it is now to see whether CSK will be able to capitalize on this fall of wicket and end up lifting their 5th IPL trophy.

GT have a number of very able batters but given their batting line-up this season had been very much dependent on Shubman Gill, his dismissal has put them in grave danger in the final.
