Indian Cricket team started their ICC World Cup 2023 campaign with a win against the mighty Aussies by 6 wickets with 52 balls to spare. India won this match from a pressure situation as they lost their 3 wickets for just 2 runs and the team was in deep-deep pressure.

Three of the Indian players: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed on duck by Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood. However, the partnership between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul rescued the Indian team from humiliation and won the match by 6 wickets. Both the players scored brilliant half-centuries in this match.

KL Rahul missed his well-deserved century :

KL Rahul came to bat when the Indian team was at 2/3 and from there he built his inning and made a partnership with Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul played sensibly and took India out of the danger and once they got settled they started scoring runs and boundaries freely.

Once Virat Kohli was dismissed on 85 runs KL Rahul stood tall and tried to finish the match. He was so close to scoring his hundred. Indian team needed 5 runs to win the match while he was at 91 runs. He tried to score a four on the first and then hit a six to complete the hundred.

However, things didn’t well in his favour as he tried to chip a shot over cover but the connection was so perfect that the shot went for six. KL Rahul sat in despair as he was looking sad and confused as he hit that six which ended his inning at 97 runs. He then celebrated his inning and punched his hand in the air.
