Sai Sudarshan has set the IPL 2023 stage on fire with his sensational knock in the most important match of the tournament. After Shubman Gill’s early dismissal, Gujarat Titans and their fans were in a lot of concern as he has been the main man in their batting line-up this season.
However, the pair of Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharshan showed utmost class in pressure situation tonight and did not let them feel the absence of the IPL 2023 Orange cap winner.
The youngster unfortunately missed out on his century by just 4 runs as he was dismissed by Matheesa Pathirana. However, that does not mean that his knock was in anyway less valuable.
This knock will be remembered for days to come and in a way, it is good for GT looking at the past record of IPL finals. Wriddhiman Saha, who is in GT right now, had scored a century against Kolkata Knight Riders in a final many years back and PBKS had ended up losing the final.
Coming back to the match in hand, Sai Sudharshan made his mark particularly in the over against Tushar Deshpande. He scored 20 runs in that over starting off with a big 6.
The over went like 6,4,4,4,1 and 1.Sadly after his dismissal, GT could not keep up the tempo and they scored only 2 runs after that. They ended up setting a total of 215 runs for Chennai Super Kings.
It will be a major challenge for Chennai Super Kings to chase this massive total. For now, it looks like Gujarat Titans have a better chance of defending the title in case Ruturaj Gaikwad or any other of CSK’s star performers rise up to the occasion to score a great knock against the mighty GT team. Only time will tell.
