The ICC cricket World Cup 2023 has been nothing short of a blockbuster so far. The tournament has been a fascinating one for the fans since it has provided them with every bit of extraordinary cricketing action ever since it’s commencement.
Amidst several interesting moments that have taken place on the pitch so far, one that has taken everyone by surprise took place in the ongoing match between India and New Zealand at Dharmashala. The moment involved Kuldeep yadav drawing several attentions towards himself after he bowled a rather unique delivery much to the contrary of everyone’s expectations.
The game began with India winning the toss and opting to bowl first. New Zealand didn’t get off to a good start as both their openers were dismissed inside the first ten overs. Daryl Mitchell along with Rachin Ravindra thereon put on a really impressive partnership to get the innings back on track. The duo did extremely well to dominate the Indian bowling and at one point had pushed the total past 150. It was in the 4th ball of 33rd over when Kuldeep yadav seemed to try and do something different.
Perhaps in an attempt to unsettle the batter Kuldeep bowled the delivery at great pace. The speed of the ball was immediately been shown to be as high as 114 Km/h much to everyone’s surprise. Mitchell who attempted a switch hit failed to execute the shot off the delivery. Skipper Rohit who was standing in the first slip was also absolutely amused to watch Kuldeep bowl such a unique delivery out of nowhere.
To talk about New Zealand’s innings, the Kiwis finished with a total of 273 in their registered 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell was the hero for his side as he smashed a brilliant century and finished with an individual score of 130 off 127 balls. Mohammed Shami picked up a fantastic fifer with the ball and finished with figures of 5/54 in his 10 overs. It remains to be seen as to whether India is able to chase down the total under the lights and achieve their fifth consecutive win of this edition of the World Cup.
