In one of those rare sights in Indian cricket, the skipper of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni shared a little awkward moment which was caught by the camera closely. MS Dhoni who was the lone survivor at the crease tried to play down the full quota of overs but the unimpressed, Virat Kohli asked MS Dhoni to go after the bowling thus resulting in a next ball wicket.

However, England made a comeback into the series to level 1-1. Coming to the game, initially, it was England who won the toss and elected to bat first with the same Eleven who tasted the loss at Nottingham. Justifying the challenge, England’s openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler took powerplay by the storm to smash the bowlers all over the park. Jason Roy was the wrecker-in-chief while Bairstow knocked brilliantly too make his presence felt.

It was once again Kuldeep Yadav who given the breakthrough to India at a crucial juncture of the game and the pressure applied by Chahal helped Kuldeep Yadav to furtherly dent England. However, out-of-form Joe Root finally came back to his beautiful form while the skipper Eoin Morgan stood at the right time with the bat. It was Hardik Pandya’s over which completely changed the scenario who injected a double wicket spell in the middle of the innings.

However, the late blitz from the remaining batsmen and Joe Root saw England push a massive 322 runs on the board. Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 3 wickets while the rest of the bowlers made their presence felt by chipping occasionally. In reply to the chase, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started the things nicely in the first over but the brilliant slow ball from Mark Wood foxed last match, Centurion, to give the initial jolt to India.

Shikhar Dhawan got a decent start but failed to convert into a big one while KL Rahul failed miserably only to register a duck to his name. Suresh Raina gave an ample support to Virat Kohli who tried to repair the things for India but unfortunately, couldn’t get it at the good rate. Just when things looked better to India, Moeen Ali injected a crucial jolt by removing Virat Kohli while Suresh Raina too failed while trying to turn up the game.

Though MS Dhoni stayed till the end, none of the batsmen hung around him thus losing the track and levelling the series 1-1. However, England’s win at Lord’s laid a thrilling platform for the final game of the series.
