The former legendary batsman from South Africa and the only cricketer to score six sixes in the ODI format, Herschelle Gibbs lashed out at AB de Villiers and Faf Du Plessis for disrespecting the game. In a recent interview on AB’s comeback to Test cricket, skipper of South Africa said that Mr 360º earned a right to make whatever he want to do in Cricket South Africa.

The statement from Faf Du Plessis doesn’t do well with the former legend Gibbs as he banished them with some harsh quoting via his official Twitter panel. He said that he was shocked by the comments made by Faf Du Plessis on AB de Villiers and expressed that this the great disrespect to the team and the game by ABD.

Faf Du Plessis statement:

Faf Du Plessis earlier quoted ”AB has earned the right to do whatever he wants to,” Du Plessis said in Cape Town on Thursday. He’s played 100 Test matches, 12 years of cricket away from home, he’s done everything that there is to do in a South African shirt apart from winning a World Cup.”

“He wants to spend more time at home … if you’re playing all three formats for South Africa you’re spending seven, eight months a year away from home. That’s obviously not the best family lifestyle,” Faf du Plessis added as per Sports24.

Herschelle Gibbs retort:

His tweet read that ”Interesting article this..captain putting a player on a pedestal! Never thought I’d see this…anyway.” In a reply, he quoted that ”Kallis achieved more than AB ever will but he kept on playing and never disrespected the team and the game.remember that.”

The reply from Herschelle Gibbs seems to have a point as no one in the world is greater than the sport. The sport is the one which gave everything in the sports person life to cherish throughout the world of any individual.
