The Indian team has a golden opportunity at hand to seal their maiden series on South African soil and they won’t like to let it go. A defeat in the last match would have opened some eyes in the dressing room and the Men in Blue will aim to hit back harder at the hosts.
Sometimes the basic principles of the game can go wrong and the Indian team had to pay the price for it. They were the culprits when they dropped a catch and got a wicket off a no-ball which proved to be costly for them. It was also a good test for the wrist spinners when they were put under pressure for the first time in this ODI series.
South Africa will like to keep their momentum going.
The Indian team were not able to finish their innings on a high after the kind of start that they got and they should have had 30 more runs on the board. The glitches in the field didn’t help either and the visitors kept sliding down.
The Proteas would have been happy with their performance and it was the alliance of Heinrich Klassen and David Miller that got them right back into the match. It was palpable that a win was needed for the hosts and that must have lifted their confidence.
Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have been superb throughout the series and the tourists need someone like Rohit Sharma to come to the party. The Indian deputy has been struggling to find his form in South Africa and it is high time that he strikes it in the next game. The middle order also needs to do a better job and capitalise on the good start that the top order is providing.
Match Prediction: The win in the last ODI must have lifted the low shoulders of the Proteas and they would like to keep the momentum. The Indian team would once again start as favourites and they would aim to bag the series.
