India aim to whitewash the series

It has been a dominating performance from the Virat Kohli boys as they have played like the best team in the longest format. India has been convincing in their wins and that has been palpable in the margin of wins in the first two Tests.

The Indian team will aim to continue their dominance over the depleted hosts Sri Lanka and will look to whitewash the series 3-0. The Indian batsmen have piled on runs in the first two Test matches as they have scored 600 in the first innings of both and then the bowlers have responded well by playing their part.

India has been the dominating team

Since the series has started it has looked like that there is only one team in the competition. The Indian team have shown that who is the boss.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka has nothing going in their way in this series, not even the toss. They have been further dented by the injuries to their key players as Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury and Rangana Herath will have to sit out due to a side strain.

Ravindra Jadeja has been suspended for the final Test and that should give mystery chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav a chance. It would be interesting to see whether India will give an opportunity to bench warmers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma but most probably they are expected to go with the same combination.

It has been a one-way traffic in the series so far but the hosts would have been delighted by the fight that they showed in the second innings as the Indian bowlers had to work hard for their wickets. Kausal Mendis and Dimuth Karunaratne batted beautifully and for the first time in the series, Lanka played like a home side and gave some competition. The Sri Lankans would not be making the mistake of playing only one fast bowler as they did in the first Test.

Cheteshwar Pujara has been in fine form as he struck his second century of the series and piled on a crucial partnership with Rahane as India were in a spot of bother after losing two quick wickets of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli.

Match Prediction: It has rained at Pallekele in the last couple of days and there are chances that rain gods will once again appear during the Test match. The visitors will once again start as the red hot favourite and would love to clinch the series 3-0.
