Sunrisers Hyderabad beat the Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs as the bowlers of the home team restrict the Delhi batters from chasing their target of 191. The Sunrisers posted a brilliant total on board despite Warner departing for a cheap score. Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan joined hands and added 126 runs for the second wicket.
With Warner getting out for four off seven balls, Dhawan and Kane took the responsibility and scored good half-centuries each. Kane Williamson summed up 89 runs while Dhawan managed to score 70 odd runs. Chris Morris picked up four wickets and was the only bowler to pick wickets for Delhi Daredevils.
Chasing the home team’s humongous target, Delhi fell short of 15 odd runs. With Iyer being unbeaten for 50 runs, Delhi almost chased down SRH’s target. The debutant, Mohammad Siraj was the pick of the bowlers for SRH as he picked two wickets on debut. Siddarth Kaul and Yuvraj Singh picked one each. The young batting lineup of Delhi Daredevils looked good chasing SRH’s total but Siraj’s early breakthrough by picking Sam Billings’ wicket was a major setback for Delhi.
Sunrisers Hyderabad continues its winning streak on their home turf with this victory over the Delhi Daredevils. SRH’s last two matches were exciting last over finishes and Siddarth Kaul was the bowler for SRH on both the occasions. The bowling line up of SRH looks pretty strong with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, and Siddarth Kaul bowling economically and picking wickets on a regular basis. Rashid Khan and Bhuvi went wicketless in this particular match while Kaul picked up one.
Delhi Daredevils batting order seemed messed up with the in-form batsman, Chirs Morris not getting a chance to play. If he was sent ahead of Mathews, it would have been a different scenario. The young Indian batsmen, Karun Nair, Sanju Samson and Shreya Iyer are playing very well with good consistency. Delhi Daredevils seems to be depending too much on the young players.
Karun Nair and Shreyas Iyer built a very good and crucial partnership but Karun was run out by Yuvraj, unfortunately. This run out was definitely the match turner as Mathews took time to hit the ball and it did the trick for the home team. Karun Nair’s wicket saw Angelo Mathews playing a responsible inning, he scored a 31 off 23 balls and got out. Karun Nair’s wicket was a major breakthrough for the home team. They successfully restricted Delhi from chasing their total of 191 and won the match by 15 runs.
