The Indian Premier League officials revealed the exciting news for the fans of all the respective franchises by giving them the option of retaining 5 players for the upcoming edition. Off all them, CSK will be an overwhelmed unit as the latest policy will certainly favour them a lot.

Chennai Super Kings’ fans have all the rights to enjoy the day as they got the delightful news when official body announced about the retention policy which is completely in favour of their team. With as many as 5 players available for the retention, it is likely to see Raina and MS Dhoni sharing the crease.

The franchises can retain a maximum of 5 players either using the retention policy or the Right to Match option. Players retention will completely be on franchise wish as they even go with zero retentions. If they do not retain any player, they will have 3 RTM options at the auction. In any case, maximum of only 3 retentions or RTM’s would be allowed.

Coming to Chennai Super Kings, most probably, Chennai Super Kings would retain MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina as their retention players by leaving all the other players. CSK would most probably eye to get back their old combination by using Right to Match option during the auction or else by purchasing.

Here are the ”13” players who are available for the retention:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Ashwin, Faf du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo, Andrew Tye, Irfan Pathan, Baba Aparajith, Ishwar Pandey and Ankush Bains.
