Kapil Dev, the former World Cup-winning skipper too came in support of Dhoni and it all became louder when Virat Kohli gave a perfect reply in the press conference. Meanwhile, Kapil Dev feels that there is no need of Virat Kohli defending MS Dhoni as he himself knows how to defend.

“Virat Kohli doesn’t need to defend Dhoni. Dhoni is good enough to defend himself. He doesn’t need to be protected. The day he feels he is not good enough, he’ll be out. He is a great player and his average is still better than anybody. A man like Dhoni likes to control the game, he doesn’t just play the game,” Kapil told India Today.

Former players call for a change:

Amidst all the speculations and criticism over MS Dhoni, the former legends like Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag asked MS Dhoni to change his approach in the T20I games. Virender Sehwag furtherly felt that the former skipper of India should bat at higher the order.

“Mindset of the players has changed now and the game is going forward. Dhoni also needs to change his mindset in T20s. He needs to play differently,” Ganguly said.

”Dhoni should realise his role in the team. He has to change the momentum early while chasing a strong total. He has to score from ball one and the team management should make him understand this point”. Virender Sehwag added during his interview with NDTV Sports.
