The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli stated in a press meet ahead of the final test match against England that he would love to play county before the start of the 2018 season. Virat Kohli added that playing county before the England tour would definitely help him adjust to the conditions and the pitches.
He confirmed that he would definitely go there a bit early and play county if he gets a chance and time before the start of the series. Preparation is a very crucial part of the game and getting used to the conditions and pitches especially during that time of the year is not an easy task.
Virat Kohli who has not had a very good time batting in the English conditions should perform and prove his mettle on the English soil. Kohli has faced lots of criticism for not performing in the English tours so far and this one will be very crucial for his career. Kohli performing in the English soil is a dream come true for him as well as his supporters.
Speaking in the press meet he said, “If I have a chance, I would love to do that in the one month and a half before the series, just to get used to the conditions and pitches during that phase of the year. I think those things matter because preparation time is very crucial for any side.”
He also added, “If I have the opportunity to go there a few days before the start of the series, I would. I have been thinking about it, trying to work out how I can do it. If I have time, I’ll most definitely do it. ” Kohli’s supporters will be eagerly waiting to see him playing the county’s and him performing well in the English conditions.
