Mumbai Indians lifted their third IPL title and Pandya brothers played their role in the victory. The elder one, Krunal was superb for them with both bat and ball throughout the tournament as he played an all important knock when it mattered the most in the finals.
Mumbai Indians were in all kinds of trouble as their batters didn’t get going but Krunal Pandya was the game changer as he got his team to a respectable score of 129 and scored 47 off 38. He was also adjudged man of the match for his performance.
The southpaw scored 243 runs and picked up 10 wickets in the 13 matches he played. He believes that performing in the second IPL season was not easy as he told TOI, “Performing well in the second IPL season is always tough for players as the opponents have already read you and they come hard at you. I am very satisfied with my performance and this was the best season for me,”.
Pandya said that he was confident of doing well in the IPL after coming back from injury as he said, “I was out of action for a long time due to injury but I had a good outing for Baroda in Vijay Hazare Trophy this season. So I was confident of performing well in IPL,”.
Krunal doesn’t want to think far ahead about his national selection right now as he said, “I am not thinking much about it, but playing for the country is a dream for any cricketer,”.
His performance in the IPL must have made him proud as the Baroda player had an outstanding IPL season and will love to keep performing like this to earn the call of playing for his country which will be a dream come true for the youngster.
