The Indian Prime Minister held a bilateral discussion with the British counterpart Theresa May in New Delhi. Narendra Modi made comment during this speech where he wished the visiting England side. The England side led by Alistair Cook are ready for a five-match test series and PM Modi took this opportunity to welcome them.

“I also take this opportunity to convey my best wishes to the English cricket team, who will begin their campaign in Rajkot, Gujarat day after tomorrow. May the best team win!” Modi said during the talk.

PM Modi also added that India and England share lasting partnership cherished by “extensive people to people linkages let’s not forget cricket here”.

Vikas Swarup, spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs narrated how cricket came into the conversation between the two leaders earlier in the day. The subject was English Skipper Alastair Cook.

There was also pondering over cricket, as the working lunch was ending. Prime Minister asked “I hope you enjoyed this food” and Theresa May replied saying “Yes, of course I love it”. Then Modi told “We have a good cook who does this but the real cook is coming with the English Cricket Team”.
