The Pakistan National Cricket team is perhaps going through one of their worst phases ever. The country is currently hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy. They are hosting an ICC event after 29 long years and unfortunately, they have already been eliminated from the tournament that they are hosting and the tournament is only halfway through.

However, that is not the only humiliating thing about Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. They have been playing horribly in it and have lost their two matches so far against New Zealand and India respectively by a big margin. Moreover, despite hosting the tournament, Pakistan had to travel to Dubai to face India, which they ultimately lost. This, ofcourse, is because the Indian government did not allow their national team to travel to Pakistan due to the political and military tension between the two countries. Thus, the tournament had to apply a hybrid status where India is enjoying a special privilege. In fact, India will also be playing their semifinal and final (if they make it) matches in Dubai.
To add to their worries, the Pakistani fans and former players have seemingly lost faith in the current players and are of the opinion that none of them are good enough to don the national jersey. The unserious interviews that the Pakistani players have been giving, are only making things worse.

Recently, Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq gave an interview where he was asked who in the team is a ‘Leader’. He took a big pause and thought for a long time before saying that no name comes to his mind. ‘Saare apas me lad rhe hai,’ he said, which translates to everyone in the team is currently fighting with each other. This definitely does not look good for the team.
He later took the name of their captain Mohammad Rizwan, but only because he apparently is always active in calling the players for their daily namaz, arranging the rooms for the same, making groups and setting the times for every activity.
