Jasprit Bumrah recently attended Unacademy’s Aarambh 2025 event and a clip of his conversation there has gone really viral. The popular Indian cricketer, who recently won the ICC Men’s Cricketer Of The Year and the ICC Men’s Test Player Of The Year, is currently out injured and has missed the 2025 Champions Trophy for the same reason. Thus, during his off-time, he is able to attend events like this.
During the event, Bumrah was asked a couple of interesting questions by the host and the teachers of Unacademy and it is his reply to one of those questions that is going really viral. He was asked what he said to Sam Konstas during the 2025 Border-Gavaskar trophy when he came between him and Usman Khawaja. It was a heated argument but Jasprit Bumrah gave a sarcastic reply.
“Pata nahi isme to aapko kuch aur lag raha hoga, main to usse puch raha tha ki ‘sab theek hai? Mummy theek hai, ghar par sab theek hai? Usne bola ‘haan theek hai’ to maine bola ‘Acha theek hai ab ball daal deta hoon’.
Although it’s difficult to know whether it’s true or Bumrah is being sarcastic, it has turned a few eyeballs because the comments are very similar to comedian Maheep Singh’s comments of ‘Mummy Kaisi Hai’ which led to some controversy after the recent controversy regarding Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’.
Although it is highly likely that Bumrah didn’t mean it in that way, some fans are taking it as a double meaning joke and comparing him with the Punjabi comedian. Some fans are also asking whether Bumrah will be the centre of some controversy due to these comments.
