The Indian team had their backs against the wall in the first innings of the opening Test match against South Africa when they were tottering at 92 for 7. Hardik Pandya didn’t throw in the towel and decided to counterattack the Proteas. The all-rounder brought his masterpiece to the table and undoubtedly it was his best Test innings in his short career.

Former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener believes that Hardik Pandya has the potential to be a game-changing all-rounder for the Indian team. Pandya then carried the confidence of his batting in his bowling and scalped both the South African openers before the end of Day’s 2 play.

Another yard of pace will help Pandya.

Pandya has been able to climb new heights in his early career and he has shown the right promise that he can be a potential all-rounder for the Indian team. Pandya has been an integral part of the limited overs form and he showed what he can bring to the table in the first Test at Newlands.

Klusener said while talking to PTI, “I thought his knock in India’s first innings was fantastic. His batting was excellent in the way he reversed pressure and put it back on South Africa. He is going to be fantastic for India. He is still developing and I think if he could add another yard of pace to his bowling, he would become a truly amazing all-rounder”.

Klusener added that Pandya is on the right path and is surrounded by the right people. The Indian team has always bereft a potential seam bowling all-rounder since Kapil Dev retired and Hardik Pandya has given glimpses of what he can do.

Zulu added, “All the signs are there that he is developing into a fantastic all-around prospect. Sure, he is bound to fail a few times the way he plays, but it is better to encourage that positive approach than reel him in.So, he is in good company, whether he plays for Mumbai Indians in IPL or in this Indian team, he is surrounded by a lot of good people. It is their responsibility to nurture him”.

Pandya has been doing a fine job and would like to keep improving in all the aspects of the game. It has been a dream start for the all-rounder and he would like to continue the good work.
