Off late, the terms like hectic, rest, injury, maiden call-ups are being in the headlines as far as Indian cricket is concerned. Now, yet another series made into the list of India’s schedule which will take place after the completion of Indian Premier League 2018.
It is not a new thing to mention that any side touring England will first play a limited over series against Ireland. England are following the tradition of arranging a series for visitor side against Ireland to give some exposure to Ireland cricket. Similarly, India too set to be played a short limited over series against Ireland ahead of the all-format series against England.
Mostly, India played Ireland only in ICC events as we rarely come across a series between both the sides. The last three times when Indian locked horns with Ireland was in ICC World Cup 2015, World Cup 2011 and 2007 respectively. In all the three matches, India comfortably sealed the game.
It is expected that India will send a complete new unit for the series against Ireland as per the performances based on Ranji Trophy and IPL 2018. However, Ireland fans would be the elated ones if they get to see India’s regular stars in action. Senior members will make their sight straight on the series against England which was always a tough task for India.
Coming to the scheduled dates, Ireland and India will lock horns in a couple of T20I matches which will be taking place on 27th and 29th of June. Both the matches will be played at Dublin. The last time when India toured to Ireland is way back in 2007. They both faced each other in 2009 as far as T20I is concerned.
