Former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid’s son is following the footsteps of his father. Samit Dravid has scored 150 runs during the Karnataka State Cricket Association’s (KSCA) BTR Cup Under-14 tournament for Mallya Aditi International School as they defeated Vivekananda School by a huge margin of 412 runs.
Samit was not the only son of former Cricketer, as he was accompanied by the son of a former Indian bowler Sunil Joshi. Aryan Joshi also scored the highest score of 154 in the match. The innings of 150 and 154 by Samit and Aryan took Mallya Aditi International School to the score of 500 for 5 in 50 overs.
Samit Dravid has shown good skills
Samit Dravid has managed to hit headlines for his cricket in the past too. Samit is a regular scorer in the Under 14 category and two years back in 2016, while playing for Bangalore United Cricket Club (BUCC), Samit Dravid scored 125 against Frank Anthony Public School in the Tiger Cup cricket tournament, with the help of 12 boundaries.
Samit was also awarded the ‘Best Batsman’ in a U-12 Gopalan Cricket Challenge in September 2015. During that period he scored three match-winning half-centuries with scores of 77*, 93, and 77 in the final playing for his school Mallya Aditi.
A perfect gift for Fathers
Rahul Dravid who is currently in New Zealand with the under19 team for the upcoming ICC U19 World cup has certainly got a brilliant gift from his son with the century Samit has scored.
Sunil Joshi too is not in India as he is in Bangladesh as the spin consultant for the Bangladesh Cricket Team. He should definitely be proud of his son’s brilliant innings.
