After sculpting a sixth successive fifty in Colombo Test, KL Rahul craftily turned ‘6’ into ‘7’ in the Pallekele Test. A proven utility stock has been offering searing best for the side and particularly after coming back from injury to hit the headlines is not that easy but KL Rahul made it look so.

India decimated Sri Lanka’s bowling attack as usual and the default theme appeared on Sri Lanka’s desktop wallpaper of getting bashed by the dominant Indian force. KL Rahul once again showed feather of his instincts that he would continue to ‘tick the flow of fifties’. He became the first Indian to register 7 successive fifties in Test cricket history which is a proud achievement.

The romantic likingness between KL Rahul and fifties is going good who brought up his 7th successive fifty and 9th overall in his career. The openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul stitched together with a 134-run liaison for the opening wicket before Lunch on Day 1.

KL Rahul joined the likes of Everton Weekes, Andy Flower, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Kumar Sangakkara, Chris Rogers for 7 successive fifty plus scores. It will be interesting to see how the match advances as there is no sign of a response from the Sri Lankans who already seems to have given up due to constant attack from the visitors.
