Twitter reacts as India whitewash Sri Lanka with an emphatic win

‘Attaboys’ is not the kind of word that can be used to describe India’s resilience against Sri Lanka because the home side was never close to announcing their arrival. It can also be put it like Sri Lanka floundered to match India’s aggression level. It was all India’s sheer dominance all the way as the Test series ended more like one-sided fixtures.

Team India completed their first ever 3-0 whitewash in an away Test series like a hot knife through butter in what was crucial to strengthen their place on top of the rankings. Neither did Sri Lanka fight back nor had the thirst to cause chaos but are certainly in the danger zone of slowly losing their reputation that was built by their earlier legends.

Sri Lanka’s transition means that they have gone from bad to worse. Sri Lanka’s whitewash in 2004 against Australia may be unfortunate but the recent debacle against India is an indication of the fact that the Sri Lankan Cricket needs a lot of thinking to do to work on what does it take to tune Lankan tail’s paragon wheel.

India clinched the third match at Pallekele by a huge margin of 171-run innings win that also sealed Sri Lanka’s hopes of salvaging¬†pride in the final Test match. Hardik Pandya is named the Player of the Match whereas Shikhar Dhawan is named the Player of the Series.

Here is how Twitter reacted to India’s intellectual nourishment that outsmarted Sri Lanka like a Boss:

Will we get to see Sri Lanka’s dominance against India atleast in the ODI series? Let’s not have expectations on the hosts only time will tell. The first match of the five-match ODI series is expected to go all guns blazing on August 20 in Dambulla.
