No improvisations in their batting technique to counter the Indian bowling attack and not even close to matching India’s aggression. When asked earlier about Sri Lanka’s chances of getting whitewashed by the Indians, Dinesh Chandimal was confident that his team would fight back. But to his words never was the realm of a brisk reply from the Lankans.

Right from the start of the series, Sri Lanka were waiting to announce their arrival and still, they haven’t been up to the mark as they have a lot of catching up to do. India secured a mammoth 487 in the first innings with the help of Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya’s twin centuries.

On the contrary, Sri Lanka were bundled out like a pack of cards as they were bowled out for 135. The chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav showcased his sheen after getting a chance for the first time in the ongoing series. He picked up 4 wickets that rattled Sri Lanka’s rhythm.

India have now enforced a follow on which Sri Lanka will have to consider this as the last chance to save themselves from the troubled waters. Sri Lanka end their day with 19/1 and with three more days to go, it’s just a clear indication that India are on the cusp of sweeping the hosts under the carpet.
