New Zealand has clearly shown its dominance on their home grounds. After beating Windies 3-0 in ODI series and winning T20I series 2-0, they have taken this sublime form to Pakistan series as well as they whitewashed the visitors by 5-0.

New Zealand came to bat first in the fifth ODI and with the help of the score of 100 by Martin Guptill, and some valuable innings of 34 by Colin Munro, 22 by captain Kane Williamson, 59 by Ross Taylor and quick 29 by Colin de Grandhomme took the New Zealand score to 271 for 7.

Pakistan Batting unit failed to impress

In response, Pakistan lost their opener Umar Amin in 4th over of their innings when the team score was only 14. Second opener Fakhar Zaman followed him and got out on 12 runs. Pakistan lost 3 quick wickets after that and looked in the dire state with just 57 runs on board and 5 wickets down. Haris Sohail and Shadab Khan then tried to rescue the Ship and showed some intent. Both added 105 runs for the 6th wicket and tried to bring Pakistan back in the game. Then in 38th over, Santner removed Haris Sohail on 63.

Although Pakistan’s lower order showed some character as Faheem Ashraf, Aamer Yameen and Mohammad Nawaz scored 23, 32 and 23 respectively. However, Blackcaps bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals and thus Pakistan’s innings never looked like in chase.

New Zealand dominated the whole series

New Zealand has shown complete authority in all of the 5 ODI matches. The difference between both teams is clearly visible in the results of all the matches. While chasing, New Zealand always looked in control in 2nd and 4th match whereas they simply tear apart Pakistan batting line-up. The discipline in New Zealand bowling line-up was clearly visible when they were defending the total. The perfect example of the New Zealand bowling was the 3rd ODI in which Blackcaps bowlers finished Pakistan’s batting on the total of 74.
